Sport NZ's funding benefits thousands of disabled tamariki and rangatahi

Great to read the new report released today on the Sport NZ website, celebrating the outcome of their 2022-25 disability inclusion funding for tamariki and rangatahi with disabilities. As a result of $3.6 million invested into 16 organisations, thousands of disabled children have been able to participate in inclusive and welcoming sporting environments. So while DEI may be under backlash globally, this funding represents one of many efforts which show that many NZ institutions are standing by and indeed strengthening their DEI commitments. It is also of note given that just two weeks ago Sport NZ were ordered by the government to take down from their website the guiding principles on including transgender people in community sport. So important to showcase that inclusion is still very much an integral part of daily practice for Sport NZ.
